The Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the team in applying specialized knowledge in a solutions development discipline.
Primary Responsibilities
- Has a lead architect responsibility. Applies specialized knowledge in a solutions development discipline to conceptualize, design, construct, test, implement and optimize systems that enable and support business functions.
- Interacts with the customer and Avanade team to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical context and organizational strategic direction.
- Defines scope, plans and deliverables for assigned projects.
- Collects, identifies, defines and organizes detailed user and systems requirements. Coordinates and collaborates with others to ensure plans and identified solutions meet the customer needs and expectations.
- Confirms and prioritizes project plans and deliverables with the customer.
- Conceptualizes, constructs, tests and implements integrated software solution, and/or distributed computing solutions for the customer and Avanade. Architects solutions and environments. Creates application program interfaces.
- Monitors performance and analyzes statistics to identify and resolve system problems.
- Establishes and maintains security, integrity and business continuity controls and documents.
- Participates in special solution design projects.
Primary Pre-Sales Responsibilities
- Assist in driving Business Development initiatives with Microsoft and Accenture and other alliance partners.
- Support relationship based selling to customers by working closely with BD representatives & other technical consultants, & taking a leading technical position during prospecting and closing.
- Develop with the Business Development team strong relationships with partners and customers.
- Work closely with Program managers and bid teams internally to maximize the business development capability.
- Work with the Communications Manager and BD representatives to develop business development collateral and leverage Avanade capabilities.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- Degree in Computer Science
- Minimum 8 years of experience with 4 years of .NET development experience in a reputable and large system integrators environment.
- 3-4 years of management experience. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, motivate and guide a development team of at least 5 developers.
- Prior track record of success - completed at least 3 system development projects as architect/team lead, with a full lifecycle (from requirements to deployment) and a minimum of 500 man days per project.
- Successfully led a team of consultants to perform business requirements gathering and process innovations and optimization studies.
- Implementation knowledge in Biztalk or SharePoint will be a plus.
- Ability to present ideas to CIO, IT Managers and write proposals, architectural and position paper for customers and publications.
- Exhibits confidence and competence when engaging senior business management such as COO and CEO to present business justifications for process changes and solutions.
- Ability to effectively engage with business users on discussions regarding complex and core operating business processes, and drive solutions design from both business and technical perspectives.
- Ability to balance stakeholders' expectations, project timeline as well as scope and solution complexity while creating customer delight and satisfaction.
- Flexible enough to perform low-level development, troubleshooting responsibilities, as well as perform high-level architectural review, design and producing development framework.
- Must be a team player who is passionate about technology and customer focused.
