As a Systems Engineer Manager, you will lead teams to design, install and configure server infrastructures, plan and implement enterprise technology infrastructures, design network security and develop operations solutions to manage Microsoft and multi-vendor environments. Additionally, you will coach, train, and mentor team members and customers. And, you will be involved in the selling of Avanade solutions, proposal development, change requirements, some marketing/PR initiatives, and developing customer relationships and analyzing the customer's business. You will apply functional knowledge and technical expertise in the designing of systems to support customer needs and you will contribute to our vast repository of intellectual property.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 4 - 8 years of years consulting expertise and large project management experience
- 1 - 2 years of management experience
- Deep knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2003/2008 R2
- 5+ years Microsoft messaging infrastructure experience
- Network protocols/services and Network infrastructures experience
- Demonstrated successful proposal experience
- Demonstrated successful use of project management methodologies
- Demonstrated team leadership and team mentoring
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Ability to travel 80% of the time to the customer location
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the following:
Demonstrated technical architecture design, configuration & implementation, migration & coexistence expertise for medium to large sized enterprise messaging platforms the following technologies:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007/2010
- Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007 & Lync 2010
- Microsoft Virtualization (Hyper-V) experience
- Microsoft Active Directory experience
Demonstrated migration & coexistence from Lotus Notes and/or Groupwise with Exchange using Quest, Binary or Microsoft migration tools.
Demonstrated strong knowledge and proficiency in two or more of the following:
- Infrastructure
- Architecture
- Operations
- Management
- Security
Demonstrated strong project delivery experience with regard to estimates, planning and deliverables
Demonstrated ability to understand a customer's needs and articulate messaging technologies to key stakeholders
Experience in developing and presenting technical requirements based on business requirements
Strong communication skills both verbal and written skills
Ability to travel 80-100% of the time to the customer location
Certifications
- MCTS : Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuration (MCTS)
- MCTS : Windows Server 2008 R2, Server Virtualization (MCTS)
