Outgoing interfaces from the customer's information systems are the primary source of data that will be stored in Amalga. The Interface Analyst will play an important role in providing the Microsoft project team with detailed information about these interfaces during all phases of the project. Note that this work includes not only HL7 based interfaces but any other electronic means of communication between your information systems and Amalga (e.g., batch file or flat file exports to Amalga).

Key Responsibilities include:

Perform inventory and analysis of all interfaces from existing systems that will feed data into Amalga

Assist with the validation of data going into Amalga (i.e., confirm that data sent by interfaces is accurately reflected within Amalga)

Play a lead role in the configuration and testing of interface connections into Amalga

*
Provide Microsoft project team with access to required interfaces

*
Answer questions about specific information sent in interfaces

*
Pull in additional subject matter experts to assist with interfacing issues as needed

Qualifications

Preferred skills and qualifications:

*
Ability to evaluate and interpret end user information requirements, and to develop and implement appropriate technical solutions

*
Three+ years of IT experience in the field of EDI, interfaces, healthcare information systems development and clinical data management

*
Experience with healthcare interface standards such as HL7 and HIPAA requirements pertaining to electronic healthcare transactions

*
Detailed working knowledge and hands-on experience with HL7 interface analysis and development (ADT, orders, results, billing, etc.)

*
Fundamental knowledge of SQL database structures and queries

*
Understanding of TCP/IP communications

*
Strong problem solving skills

*
Experience in the following electronic communication protocols in addition to HL7

*
eXtensible Markup Language (XML)

*
Fixed-length formats

*
Variable-length delimited formats

*
Alert configuration

*
Custom message logging scripts

*
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related
