Description
Avanade is looking for a Microsoft Infrastructure Architect that possesses professional consulting attributes, exceptional technical skills, strong client focus, excellent communication and presentation skills, strong client focus, and commitment to detail. As a Microsoft Infrastructure Architect, you will be responsible for assistance with opportunity development, planning, design, and delivery on a variety of initiatives such as Microsoft Online Services, Datacenter Optimization and Virtualization, Desktop and Workspace Infrastructure, Server Infrastructure, and Messaging/Collaboration. You will apply functional knowledge and technical expertise to design systems to support customer needs and you will contribute to our vast repository of intellectual property.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborating with sale representatives to assist with opportunity development through pre-sales support, responding to client opportunities and RFPs, meeting with customers to present Avanade offerings and solutions, and scoping/estimating effort;
Providing project delivery leadership, including defining project scope, deliverables, effort estimation, and implementation timelines;
Designing, implementing and executing server infrastructure, migration strategies, and integration/coexistence for a wide range of medium to enterprise-level initiatives;
Gathering business requirements and translating them into IT solutions;
Leading design reviews to ensure optimum solution delivery;
Leading solution implementation and delivery;
Developing and delivering internal and external presentations to various levels;
Performing financial analysis for IT solutions and calculating business value;
Managing diverse responsibilities, projects and assignments while maintaining a high level of quality;
Leading teams across functional and geographic boundaries; teaching and mentoring colleagues.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience working in a medium to large IT environment as a subject matter expert in Microsoft infrastructure solutions.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design and implementation of Microsoft Infrastructure solutions at the Architect level.
Excellent communication skills, including executive-level presentation experience;
Exceptional writing skills, including documenting solution architectures, support information, and leading bid response processes (RFP’s, ITQ’s, SOW’s, etc.);
Strong customer service focus and attention to detail;
Ability to travel;
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related field;
Industry recognized certifications and memberships (MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, etc.).
The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with architecture, implementation and support expertise of three or more of the following technologies, strategies and activities:
Windows server and client operating systems: Windows Server (2008R2 / 2008 / 2003) and Windows 7 / Vista / XP;
Active Directory Services: AD CS, AD DS, AD FS, AD LDS, AD RMS;
Microsoft Messaging and Unified Communication technologies: Exchange 2007/2010, Office Communications Server (OCS) / Lync Server;
Microsoft Collaboration technologies: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS);
System Center Products (System Center Configuration Manager; System Centre Service Manager; System Centre Operations Manager);
Microsoft Cloud Services: BPOS/Office 365;
Microsoft Desktop Transformations;
Microsoft Application Infrastructure design and implementation (BizTalk Server, SQL Server, Team Foundation Server, CRM);
Virtualization technologies (Server and Application).
Additional knowledge and experience with one or more of following technologies is advantageous:
Microsoft Identity Management technologies: ILM/FIM;
Microsoft database technologies: SQL Server;
Knowledge of non-Microsoft technologies: VMware, Citrix;
Knowledge of non-Microsoft Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration technologies: Lotus Notes; GroupWise; etc.;
Telecommunications technologies: Voice; VOIP; PBX;
Microsoft Security technologies and strategies:
