Description

The Technical Infrastructure (TI) Service Line is a high growth and strategic business for Avanade globally. Our regional teams work with the Area service line lead and Global product management to define solutions for our clients and deliver them with support of various delivery centers in the GDN. The role of the Architect is pre-dominantly a pre-sales role and involves the definition of standardized solutions, promoting adoption of offerings, and solutioning deals against defined or implied client requirements.

The Area Architect is accountable for defining TI solutions, mainly in the area of Workplace services as well as supporting the growth of Infrastructure Outsourcing through supporting the sale of infrastructure related Managed Services. Focus of work is to support new and existing customers within various regions in EALA. This will entail discharging a wide range of responsibilities, including:
‒ defining Avanade solution offerings for Workplace services and delivery capability including Managed Services (“Workplace as a Service”).
‒ liaise with other solution architects in similar roles and global product management (within SCS) to define standardized solution baselines, application add-ons as well as industrialized delivery options.
‒ working within new business teams to interpret client defined or implied requirements against above mentioned Avanade solution templates and supporting sales activity in presenting our solution approach and methods to client stakeholder groups.
‒ engaging with client stakeholders and other knowledgeable resources to validate service requirements, explore solution options and identify service integration requirements.
‒ applying Avanade solution templates and leading the definition of a (Managed) Service solution that meets the agreed requirements; working closely with Avanade (global) delivery teams and third parties to realise service estimates in accordance with the Avanade Estimating Model (AEM) guidelines.
‒ identifying all service costs and populating cost models accurately to ensure a full visibility of costs related to establishing and delivering the service over the contract term.
‒ creating and documenting Solution Plans and engaging internal stakeholders as required to populate the Avanade ‘Deal Review System’ and support an internal sign-off (at regional, area and global levels) of costs and risk as well as identifying and mitigating solution risks.
‒ developing standardized pricing and commercial strategies and supporting the commercial dialogue with clients.
‒ planning for and supporting service implementation, service transition, and, service introduction activities including appropriate change management services.
‒ establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Avanade service line representatives across the area and business development personnel in the respective regions.
‒ building and maintaining strong working relationships with delivery centre solution architects and contributing to the Avanade collaboration community.
Additional Details:
‒ The working location may vary, travel to client locations will be required, so too may occasional travel to our global delivery centres.
‒ Some out of hours working may be required to support bid deadlines.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS (TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL):

Our successful Architects have a breadth of knowledge and experience, including:

‒ experience of working in consulting and pre-sales roles, working within new business teams and with a variety of clients.

‒ detailed knowledge of infrastructure solutions and managed delivery models, including global and distributed delivery models.

‒ experience of estimating and costing to implement infrastructure solutions and of populating cost models and validating costing data and assumptions.

‒ experienced in the development of sales proposals.

‒ experience of Managed Services and working with multi-site teams.

‒ experience of successfully developing and delivering multi-workforce solutions, preferably with good experience of using an Indian workforce.

Candidates must have experience with the broad range of Workplace technologies and of selling and leading desktop transformation initiatives.

Multi-lingual is not a mandatory requirement but will be a significant advantage.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND (EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS, YEARS OF EXPERIENCE)

‒ Degree level education or equivalent

‒ Minimum 10 years experience developing infrastructure solutions

‒ Minimum 5 years experience working as a solution architect

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

The job holder will be an experienced pre-sales or delivery professional and will be able to demonstrate the following skills, capabilities and qualities:

‒ Domain Knowledge: experience and understanding of infrastructure technologies and solutions, able to define and evaluate solutions options and variants to realise a value based solution eventually using Managed Services for the same.

‒ Numeracy, Analysis: comfortable working with estimating, costing and pricing models. Demonstrates strong analytical skills, ability to analyse client provided data.

‒ Communication skills: demonstrates a structured and considered approach to written and oral communication. Able to communicate our solutions templates to non-technical business stakeholders like Head of Corp.Comms, Head of HR, etc.

‒ Solution Shaping: experienced in the development of infrastructure solutions, knowledge of managed services contractual constructs.

‒ Team Player: proven ability to work with virtual teams, contributing to the success of the company while not having a direct line reporting relationship, provides leadership when appropriate.

‒ Deals with Ambiguity: able to standardize solution design and industrialize delivery, able to define solution elements even when all the required information is not available, realises and documents reasonable assumptions.
