Short Description: Avanade is looking for a Director of Sales Compensation with at least 8 years of Compensation or Sales experience to lead the Design and Administration of Avanade's Sales Compensation plans and assist with global variable compensation plans.

Description:

The Sales and Variable Compensation Director will be responsible for the annual design process of the Sales Compensation plans. Working closely with sales leadership this role will integrate the sale philosophy, objectives and goals into the sales compensation plans.

Responsibilities include designing, modeling, implementing and administering sales compensation plans, policies and procedures worldwide.

The focus of this role is on strategy and design of our sales compensation plans. Additional responsibilities will include strategy and design for broader Avanade variable pay programs to include short term and long term incentives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Integrate sales philosophy and strategy into sales compensation plans.

- Establish global sales compensation strategy to support overall business goals and drive appropriate sales behavior.

You will represent Avanade to the customer and serve as the engagement owner for all delivery, customer, personnel and financial, issues. You will be responsible for customer communications and will work proactively to resolve business and technical issues.

Specific Responsibilities include:

- Working with sales professionals to identify, shape and propose solutions to business opportunities.
- Preparing proposals, budgets and contracts in support of the sales process
- Supporting and participating sales negotiations to finalize customer agreements and contracts.
- Securing internal approvals for a proposal before submitting to the customer
- Developing and tracking detailed project work plans in Microsoft project using earned value analysis
- Identifying and obtaining resources to staff a project
- Preparing and running kick off meetings to initiate a project
- Establishing process to track project finances against the baseline budget
- Establishing process to manage scope and requirements for a project
- Establishing governance processes to inform and receive support of both internal and external project and executive leadership

- Establishing performance management process for the project team
- Reviewing, approving and delivering invoices for the project to the customer
- Forecasting Avanade financial data for each project

Qualifications

MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND (EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS, YEARS OF EXPERIENCE)

- 10-12 years of increasingly diverse or complex experience and at least 8-10 years of management experience at the executive level

- Consulting /project-based background:

- University, technical, engineering degree or related

- Ability to lead complex projects that result in the accomplishment of overall business objectives

- Technology and solutions depth:

- Specific knowledge of Key Microsoft or other relevant technologies

- Significant experience in the delivery of projects in the appropriate service line

- Demonstrated understanding of key Project Management disciplines (estimating, work planning, contract management, scope management, user acceptance, etc.)

- Demonstrated understanding of delivery methodologies (Avanade Connected Methods, Microsoft Solutions Framework, Accenture Delivery Methods)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

The Ethics and Compliance Program is built upon the framework of the seven standards of an effective ethics and compliance program, described by the US Sentencing Commission's Federal Sentencing Guidelines for Organizations. The Ethics and Compliance Program includes the Avanade Code of Business Ethics (COBE), the Ethics and Compliance Steering Committee, the Ethics and Compliance Leads network, the Avanade Business Ethics Line (website and phone) and the bi-annual policy adoption and training.

The Ethics and Compliance Program Manager has overall responsibility to:

- Manage and further develop the systems, processes, and training supporting the Ethics and Compliance Program.
- Build overall awareness and integration into the business of the Ethics and Compliance Program, including the Ethics and Compliance Leads network, as well as support for key compliance initiatives such as identification and mitigation of key compliance risks.
- Provide ethics and compliance expertise and remain abreast of current ethics and compliance industry practices.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with legal and ethics professionals at our parent companies, Accenture and Microsoft, whose ethics and compliance programs have a significant influence on the content of the Avanade program.
- Develop the long-term goals of the Ethics and Compliance Program, in consultation with the Senior Legal Counsel and Assistant Secretary, and take responsibility for results against those goals.
- Identify need for and staff out new program resources.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

- Office of Ethics and Compliance: Act as the primary contact for questions and requests for support regarding the Ethics and Compliance Program.
- Ethics and Compliance Steering Committee: Coordinate agendas and logistics for bi-monthly meetings of Ethics and Compliance Steering Committee. Prepare metrics and materials for discussion and review before compilation into quarterly reports provided to the Audit Committee.
- Written Compliance Standards and Procedures: Help support the bi-annual policy review process. Support development of policies and procedures. Work with global policy team to update and maintain the Code of Business Ethics and review existing Legal policies for accuracy and relevance.
- EC Leads Organization and Coordination: Continue the development, implementation and support of global Ethics and Compliance Leads network.
- Enhance Professional Relationships: Build and maintain network of professional contacts in various companies, particularly Accenture and Microsoft, and regional compliance associations, such as the Northwest Ethics Network.
- Training and Education: Work with internal groups on creation of mandatory compliance training. Write or support creation of content for organization-wide communications, such as Decision Point. Generate periodic status reports, including for Global Learning & Development's tracking of required compliance training completion rates.
- Routine Monitoring and Auditing: Assist in preparation of metrics evaluating the effectiveness of the Ethics and Compliance Program. Continue to enhance the dataset of Avanade employees' perceptions of integrity of the workplace. Research, identify, and contract with vendors as appropriate to build, create, and run surveys. Assess results of surveys, review effectiveness of the program, and provide suggestions for improvement.
- Business Ethics Line: Assist in the management and awareness of the Business Ethics Line. Work on the handling of reports and investigations, including coordination with internal and external groups, as well as outside counsel. Generate periodic status reports on handling of Business Ethics Line reports.
